Child and Adolescent Therapy

Is your child struggling with big feelings, anxiety, or attention challenges? Are meltdowns, worries, or impulsive behaviors starting to affect their daily life—or your family dynamic? Do you sense they’re overwhelmed, but not sure how to help them put it into words?

Childhood can be confusing, especially when emotions feel too big or hard to explain. Together, we’ll work to build emotional regulation, confidence, and healthy coping skills—so your child feels understood, and you feel hopeful again.

At Alexa Wernick Psychotherapy, I help children explore their thoughts and feelings in a safe, supportive space—through age-appropriate, engaging approaches like play, art, and tailored hands on activities. Therapy can support your child in building confidence, learning problem solving skills, social skills, coping skills, and much more. I specialize in working with children experiencing ADHD and anxiety through teaching impulse control techniques, emotional regulation skills, executive functioning tools, and partnering with you, outside providers, and school staff.
